A regulated environment
The transportation of dangerous goods by air is governed by IATA (International Air Transport Association), an organization composed of 240 airlines. The ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), an intergovernmental organization, studies and develops standards related to air transport. The IATA regulations are based on the ICAO recommendations and include specific requirements defined by the airlines.
